Kit Cody

General Manager Web Strategy

AARP Services Inc.

Kit Cody is General Manager of AARP’s Web Strategy Group, overseeing the design, development and maintenance of AARP.org and other online properties. Hired in the summer of 2006 to transform the web site for the world’s largest organization (38 million members), he spearheaded the strategy and execution of a member-focused, social media flagship property (aarp.org), which launched in March or 2008.  Prior to AARP, Kit was VP of Product at Bolt Media, a youth-focused online network which he helped position as #40 on Comscore’s list of most-popular online properties. At Bolt he successfully directed a complete re-conception and launch of bolt.com as a ‘creative networking’ platform, exponentially increasing traffic and pageviews across the network. In 1998, Kit co-founded Concrete Media, a New York based Internet professional services company with clients including Viacom, Disney, Hachette-Filipacchi, and Bertelsmann. As General Manager and Chief Product Officer he was instrumental in growing the company from ten to 150 employees, with $20 million in revenue, in just three years. Prior to Concrete, Kit was executive producer at GORP.com, where he managed content development, site design, and editorial partnerships for the most popular outdoor recreation/adventure travel destination on the Internet. He holds a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s in International Relations from Hampshire College.
